Cody-29 year old Morgan Gelding
Cody is the love of my life. He has been with me for 20 years now. He rides and drives and even does a few tricks. He is the sweetest horse and he loves people. He was born on a nurse mare farm in Kentucky where he was the used as a teaser stallion for 7 years. I decided that he would make a very nice geding and he has been wonderful. i still ride him and go exploring with him whenever I get the chance.
Sulper Springs Cowboy-Yearling Spanish Mustang
Cowboy is a Spanish Mustang, adopted from the BLM in Utah. He is a very rare grulla color and has white markings which is even more rare with that color. Grulla is a primitive, wild equine color. He will shed out a silvery gray and will have primitive stripes on his legs and down his back. He is a yearling so he is just a baby. The Sulpher Springs management area is famous and these horses have been studied and their Spanish heritage documented. I have wanted to adopt a Mustang for many years and was waiting for THE perfect one to come available and here he is!
Cowboy is till in Utah (March 2001) but will be shipped East to Asheville at the end of April.
I picked up Cowboy in Asheville on a wet day in April. He has gone from a skinny, fuzzy baby to a filled out, round young horse in 6 months. He has strong primative striping on his legs, back and through his mane and tail. We will start some ground training soon, but right now he is just getting to be a baby.
Jasmine- 20 year old jenny and guard donkey supreme!
Jasmine is my main guard donkey. She is totally trustworthy with lambs, tiny kids, chickens and now even the pigs. She is very intelligent and like all donkeys, will chase anything out of the pasture that she perceives does not belong. She tried to chase the pigs when I first moved them to the pasture and a after a couple of firm "no's!", she quickly firgured out that they belonged. She is very sweet and calls to me in her funny bray whenever I come out of the house. She loves her organic carrot and apple treats and thinks that people are pretty handy to have around!
Fred- 5 year old, Miniature Donkey Jack
Fred is such a pretty boy and he has a great personality. He is a big talker and his open mouthed braying will have you holding your ears if you happen to be nearby! His favorite treat is animal crackers (what else?) and he takes them carefully from even the littlest fingers.
Gertrude-8 year old mini donkey jenny
Gertrude is Fred's mom and when I found out that she was for sale and in foal, I decided that she needed to come live with us. She is sweet and personable and has that pretty dished face like her son. She has been bred to a small spotted jack. If she has a boy, he will probably be for sale.
Rosie-4 month old mini donkey jennet
Rosie will come to live with us soon, when she is weaned. Sorrel donkeys are very rare and I have always wanted one. She is beautiful and very sweet with loads of personality.
