Cody-26 year old Morgan Gelding
Cody is the love of my life. He has been with me for 20 years now. He rides and drives and even does a few tricks. He is the sweetest horse and he loves people. He was born on a nurse mare farm in Kentucky where he was the used as a teaser stallion for 7 years. I decided that he would make a very nice geding and he has been wonderful. i still ride him and go exploring with him whenever I get the chance.
Music-20 year old Belgian draft mare rescue
Music has only been here since the second week of July 2010. She came with the name "Duchess" but whatever was once regal in her has been beaten and starved away. She was not being fed, was kept in a dirt lot, possibly has EPSM (which was not being treated), and she is afraid of people when they come at her with ropes and halters and things that she perceives may hurt her. I renamed her "Music" because she has her own tempo and her own timing and she needed a lovely, healing and sweet name. She is slowly putting on weight and she now lets me walk up to her in the pasture and rub all over her. She used to walk quietly away and stay just out of reach. I let her come in on her own to eat and let her leave when she wishes-she is not forced to do anything. I believe that one day she will once again be the regal and proud horse that she was when she was born and before people became a part of her sad life. She loves Cody and her donkey friends and spends her days grazing and lounging under the trees.
Jasmine- 20 year old jenny and guard donkey supreme!
Jasmine is my main guard donkey. She is totally trustworthy with lambs, tiny kids, chickens and now even the pigs. She is very intelligent and like all donkeys, will chase anything out of the pasture that she perceives does not belong. She tried to chase the pigs when I first moved them to the pasture and a after a couple of firm "no's!", she quickly firgured out that they belonged. She is very sweet and calls to me in her funny bray whenever I come out of the house. She loves her organic carrot and apple treats and thinks that people are pretty handy to have around!
